The mother of a stillborn baby whose grave was desecrated has said she lives in fear of further attacks on her daughter’s resting place.
Emma Tabb only recently started placing tributes again at the plot of her daughter, Elise, after several items were destroyed or removed last summer.
It was the second time in 12 months the site at Dunfermline had been trashed.
Police have not yet traced anyone in connection with either incident, but six months on Ms Tabb said she still fears those responsible may return.
“I cringe every time I go up there,” she said. “I’m still worried whenever I go to see her grave.”
“We put up a small wreath at Christmas time and it’s still there, but every time I go to the grave I have doubts as to what it will be like.”
Baby Elise was stillborn on August 22 2014 and buried at the cemetery on Halbeath Road.
However, shortly afterwards her grave was targeted by thieves who stole some of the tributes.
To mark what would have been her first birthday, Emma and her partner Ryan once again decorated their baby’s plot last August however, just days later the pair were distraught to discover their tributes had once again been destroyed by vandals.
Police launched an appeal for information, with Inspector Ian Flynn branding the act as “despicable and utterly disrespectful”.
Ms Tabb added: “It’s not a massive expense but it’s the sentimental attachment that these items have for us that makes it all difficult.
“We might do something and place items there for her birthday in August, but I still have doubts as to whether we should or not.”
