Raith Rovers fans snap up tickets for Easter Road cup clash
ByThe Courier Reporter
Raith Rovers are reporting steady sales of tickets for their Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Hibernian on February 8.
The Kirkcaldy club have all but sold out the lower tier of the away stand at Easter Road after fans snapped up the initial 1,500 allocation of briefs, and a further 500 tickets for the upper tier of the stand will be on sale this week.
Rovers are fancying their chances of a cup upset after taking Hibs’ Edinburgh rivals Hearts to penalties in the League Cup earlier this season and have been delighted with the response from supporters thus far.
Meanwhile, club officials say they have installed a temporary public address system at Stark’s Park pending permanent repairs of the old system, which attracted complaints from fans recently.
Rovers’ reserve side were due to face Annan Athletic on Tuesday night but, following the postponement of the first team’s game on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch, it came as no surprise that the reserve fixture has also now been cancelled.
