Disqualified motorist crashed wife’s car on test drive, court told

A disqualified motorist has been handed a further ban after he admitted driving without insurance or a licence.
Jamie Kennedy was test driving his pregnant wife’s car ahead of its MoT, the court was told.
His solicitor Pauline Cullerton told Perth Sheriff Court that Kennedy had just repaired the brakes on the Ford Focus and “foolishly” decided to check them.
She said he had swerved to avoid traffic on the B935 Bridge of Earn to Forgandenny road, and ended up crashing in a field.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis ordered Kennedy, 29, of Strathtay Road, Perth, to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work and disqualified him for six years, after which he must sit an extended test.
