Online-only fashion giant ASOS enjoyed “particularly strong trading” through its peak December period, enabling it to grow first-half retail sales by 34% to £352 million.
Increased total retail sales of £186m for the three months to February 28, up 37% on the same period the previous year, were driven by continuing momentum in international business, which climbed 45% to account for 59% of total sales.
But, bucking retail trends, the UK performance of the London-based clothing company also powered ahead, exceeding company expectations and growing 28% year-on-year.
Revenue has been buoyed by free worldwide delivery and a focus on adding content such as style blogs and fashion advice to its website.
