An Arbroath woman asked to be jailed after she admitted assaulting three people on the same day.
Antionette Hilton, 45, of Emislaw Drive, previously admitted that, on December 28 at her home address, she assaulted a man by lunging at him, repeatedly attempting to push him on the head and body and punching him to the head; on the same date at her home she assaulted another man by punching him on the head to his injury.
Hilton also admitted assaulting a female police constable on duty by biting her on the arm and ear to her injury at Arbroath Police Station later on December 28.
At Arbroath Sheriff Court on Tuesday, defence agent Billy Rennie said: “The report highlights a number of issues in the background.
“She feels the chances of completing a CPO (Community Payback Order) in this area are nigh on impossible and dealing with this by a custodial sentence would be more appropriate.”
Sheriff Gregor Murray told Hilton: “I take into account your frank and honest assessment of the situation. You have an appalling record, particularly for violence towards police officers.”
He sentenced Hilton to 40 days for the assaults in her home to run consecutively, followed by 80 days for the police assault, to run concurrently a total of 120 days.
