A burst of heavy rain and hail caused a brief period of chaos on the A9 south of Perth this evening.
A number of cars slip from the carriageway in separate incidents on or near the Cairnie Braes, including one police vehicle which ended up damaged in the central reservation.
Police Scotland said no-one had been injured in the incidents, which a spokesman said had been caused by “torrential rain”.
Recovery efforts are currently underway to remove vehicles and motorists are asked to take care.
It’s thought the route should be cleared within a relatively short time.
Police Scotland has also been dealing with the aftermath of an accident on the Kingsway in Dundee in which two cars collided.
The accident caused some congestion and left a fuel spill on the carriageway.
Recovery of the vehicles is underway and the road has been sanded.
