Lundin Links man in critical condition after accident with lorry

A young Fife man was in a “critical and unstable condition” today after he was involved in an accident with a fish lorry in Lundin Links on Tuesday morning.
The man, named locally as Michael Fernie, who is in his early 20s, is understood to live in Lundin Links with his girlfriend.
A former pupil of St Andrews RC High School in Kirkcaldy, it is understood he works at Sainsbury’s in Leven.
His family were today at his bedside in the intensive care unit of Ninewells Hospital.
Police confirmed that investigations continue. The incident happened at the east end of Lundin Links around 11.45am on Tuesday, outside the premises of Mercury Motors.
It involved a seven-tonne articulated lorry from St Monans fish supplier G&J Wilson Ltd. The firm declined to comment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to phone 101.
