Arbroath Relay For Life ‘the best thing you will ever do’
ByThe Courier Reporter
A call has gone out from Arbroath Relay For Life team chairman John Crompton for people to get involved in “the best thing you’ll ever do”.
He has been involved in the relay as a team member most years since it was launched in Arbroath nine years ago, in memory of his father, who succumbed to cancer 20 years ago.
His aunt also died from the disease.
He said: “I would be more than happy to speak to anyone who would like to take part and would like more information.
“Raising money for Cancer Research UK by participating in Relay For Life is the best thing you will ever do.”
This year’s event starts on September 19 at Arbroath Cricket Club and runs for 24 hours. Teams of eight to 15 people take it in turns to complete laps of the track.
All relay events continue overnight to highlight the fact that cancer never sleeps.
