A weather warning is in place for Perthshire after the region was battered by heavy snow. The area was the worst hit in Tayside as the first blast of winter several cars off the roads and caused localised flooding. An accident on the A9 at the River Earn led to significant delays and further north vehicles went off the road at Drumochter Pass. The A93 Glenshee to Braemar road was closed and a car stuck in the snow caused disruption in the Dunkeld area. Around lunchtime the A85 was completely shut to northbound traffic due to heavy snow.
