A lorry driver has become the second to fall foul of severe flooding between Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie. Days after footage of a motorist losing control in deep River Isla flooding went viral, a lorry driver from the Encon Group insulation firm has tried and failed to make the trip. Local man Joe Richards said he watched in disbelief as the lorry driver attempted to cross the flooded section of the A923 on Tuesday morning. The road has been closed for days as the Isla reached record levels. Mr Richards said the lorry made it about as far as the stricken car before the driver gave up and had to reverse around half a mile to dry land. Police have issued repeated appeals for drivers not to ignore ‘road closed’ signs. The Courier has contacted the firm asking for comment.
