A man has been taken to hospital after spending the night stranded on the UK’s highest mountain.
The alarm was raised when the man, in his 40s, did not return from a walk on Ben Nevis yesterday evening.
The search operation resumed this morning after rescuers found no trace of him last night.
Lochaber mountain rescue team (LMRT), Glencoe mountain rescue team, the joint services mountain training centre and RAF rescue helicopter 137 were involved in the search.
The man was found at 9.50am this morning, police said. He was taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William.
In a post on their Facebook page, LMRT team said the man was found in Coire Eoghainn.
They said: “Anyone planning to go onto Ben at moment you will need ice axe, crampons, winter gear and be able to navigate.”
