Doorstep racist rant at police costs man £150 fine
ByGraham Brown
A Forfar man who slammed his house door in the face of police called to an early-hours disturbance has been fined £150.
Stuart Bell told officers he wished the “foreign b*******” living alongside him should “go back to their own country” and was arrested after he refused to stop the racial abuse.
Fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson told Forfar Sheriff Court police received a complaint shortly after midnight on March 27 and when they arrived at Bell’s Craig o’ Loch home, could hear loud noises and shouting coming from inside.
When the accused was informed about the call he said: “It must have been those foreign b******* that made a complaint. They should **** off back to their own country.”
The fiscal added: “He was warned again about his comments but slammed the door in the face of police and continued to be aggressive when he was arrested.”
Defence agent Bob Bruce said his client married his partner a few weeks ago and is due to become a dad at the end of this year.
Sheriff Veal commented: “He should be careful what he drinks. If he hadn’t been drinking this wouldn’t have happened, it’s as simple as that.”
