A woman had to be cut free from her vehicle following a serious accident on the A92 near the Tay Road Bridge during the morning rush hour.
Emergency services were called to the scene just off the Forgan Roundabout at around 8.45am after reports that a white Ford Fiesta Zetec had overturned.
A fire engine from Tayport and ambulance personnel were in attendance and found the vehicle on its roof with the female driver trapped.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to safely remove the trapped female driver.
“The casualty was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.”

No other vehicles were involved and it is understood that the driver, who was said to be in her 30s, suffered only minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The accident caused lengthy tailbacks for motorists heading north towards Dundee via the Tay Road Bridge, with the A92 closed for around an hour.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said officers had launched an investigation and urged anyone who may have seen the accident to contact them.
Sergeant Pat Turner said: “We received information about a road traffic collision around 8.45am today.
“The female driver had to be cut free by fire crew and we’re appealing for any witnesses who may have any information regarding the collision.”
