The Tay Road Bridge is to start tweeting important announcements and traffic information.
The bridge has just joined Twitter and will use it to update users throughout the day.
Searching for @Tay_road_bridge will let people know what conditions might be affecting the bridge.
The chairman of the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board, Councillor Margaret Taylor, said: “I am delighted this is happening. The more people that can be told as soon as possible when the bridge is closed due to accidents, breakdowns or weather conditions, the better.”
Vice-chairman Councillor Jimmy Black said: “The board was particularly keen to see Twitter being used for traffic information.”
