Arbroath 0 Clyde 1: Ryan insists Lichties will turn corner
ByThe Courier Reporter
Andy Ryan is confident struggling Arbroath won’t find themselves cut adrift at the foot of League Two at the end of the season.
The Angus side tasted yet another defeat on Saturday their sixth in seven games since the start of the new term and are on the bottom with just one point.
However, Ryan is convinced the Gayfield side won’t become the second Angus side in a row to fall into the Pyramid Play-Off after Montrose suffered that fate last term.
“We won’t be left isolated at the bottom,” said Ryan.
“We are only five games into the league season so it would be ridiculous to look at it that way. We all believe we can turn it around.”
Chris Smith’s first half header crashed off the underside of the bar to give Clyde a first half lead.
And despite dominating possession in the second period and striking the woodwork through Craig Watson’s injury time header, Arbroath suffered yet another damaging defeat.
Manager Todd Lumsden added: “I can’t believe we didn’t take anything out of that game. We had so much possession but just couldn’t put the ball away.”
