High school children in Angus sank their teeth into a writing workshop with a difference when bestselling author Matt Whyman visited the area.
As part of the fifth Scottish FriendlyChildren’s Book Tour of 2013, more than two thirds of secondary schools were invited to host a workshop with Matt in his comic world of teenage fiction.
Matt is also resident agony uncle for both Bliss Magazine and BBC Radio 1’s the Surgery with Aled.
Matt visited Arbroath High Monifieth High, Brechin High, Webster’s High in Kirriemuir, Montrose Academy and Forfar Academy.
He said: “I struggled at school but it was the pen and paper that rescued me. I’m now a firm believer that learning to express yourself confidently with the written word will take you places in life.”
