Motorists are being warned about roadworks starting on A92 between Freuchie and Eden Bridge on Sunday evening.
The £202,000 resurfacing work will start at 7.30pm and is scheduled to take place over five nights.
A convoy system will be used during the works from 7.30pm to 6.30am each morning to ensure the safety of the workforce and the travelling public.
The convoy will be lifted outside of these hours.
Consultation has taken place with local residents in advance of the resurfacing to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
BEAR Scotland’s Andy Thompson said: “These works will improve the general condition and safety of the road for motorists, repairing any existing defects in the surface.
“We’ve planned these works to take place overnight to avoid peak traffic times to keep disruption to a minimum, however, we’d encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
