Dunfermline man jailed for 16 years for sexually abusing girls

A Dunfermline man has been jailed for abusing two young girls over a four year period.

William Aitken raped and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl on numerous occasions between 2008 and 2012 and sexually assaulted another girl between 2009 and 2010.

Aitken started attacking the child when she was 14 years old.

The 42-year-old was convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh last month after a two-week trial.

Lady Wolffe sentenced him to 16 years in prison and placed him on the sex offenders register for life.
