Torrential rain led to flooding in parts of Scotland.
A yellow “be aware” weather warning for heavy showers had been issued earlier by the Met Office but the deluge still took many by surprise.
Aberdeen was worst hit, with a number of roads across the city closed because of flash floods during the afternoon.
Downpours hit Dundee and Fife around 6.40pm on Tuesday as the weather front moved south but the showers did not last long, although there was some flooding in Broughty Ferry.
A spokeswoman for Aberdeen City Council said: “Due to extremely heavy rain in Aberdeen this afternoon there are several ongoing flooding and road issues.”
Sandbags were delivered to homes while Aberdeen FC had to close the club shop and ticket office because of flooding.
