Fife adventurer sets off on gruelling charity challenge through the Burmese jungle

A police officer and former military man sets off to cycle almost 300 miles through the mountains and jungle of Burma.
Jason Davies, 33, will cycle up to 86 miles a day in temperatures of 30-35 degrees Celcius in aid of Help for Heroes.
The response officer at Levenmouth Police Station previously worked as an air traffic controller for the RAF at Leuchars and has done two tours in Afghanistan so the charity is a cause close to his heart.
He said: “Given the distance, heat, humidity and terrain this is going to be a tough challenge but one I am willing to face head on for a good cause.
“I chose Help for Heroes as my charity of choice because I have seen the good work that they do and I believe it’s a very worthwhile charity to support.”
Jason, of Leuchars, and former colleague Simon Wragg, now at RAF Lossiemouth, will cycle from Mandalay to Yangon.
Waving him off today will be wife Suzanne, who is expecting their second child in May, and three-year-old son Matthew.
He has raised more than £1,100 and is collecting donations on his JustGiving page.
