Disorientated hillwalkers rescued from Beinn Ghlas

An RAF search helicopter was flown into Perthshire last night to search for two lost hillwalkers.

The pair, who were properly equipped for the conditions, used a mobile phone to call for help after becoming “disorientated” on Beinn Ghlas.

Neither of the walkers was injured during the incident.

In a Facebook post, Tayside Mountain Rescue Team said: “Two call-outs today first in Glen Doll resolved quickly; second on Beinn Ghlas just successfully ended.

“Full winter conditions out there folks and with the ominous forecast for the next few days please be prepared for all eventualities.”
