Raith Rovers goalkeeper David McGurn will remain out until January at the earliest following surgery on his injured ankle at the end of last month.
The shot-stopper suffered a torn achilles tendon in the 2-1 win over Morton on October 26 and required an operation to repair the damage done a few days later, leaving him facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
His recovery is said to be going well but Rovers boss Grant Murray confirmed that McGurn will certainly not be in contention before the end of 2013.
“Davie is out of the cast and he’s now in a moon boot, so he’s in that for three weeks,” the manager said.
“Once he comes out of that we’ll have a better idea of how long he’ll be out for, but we’re into next year if we’re talking about Davie.”
Meanwhile, Raith fans have been given an extra incentive to return to Dens Park at the end of the month for their Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Dundee.
The club have agreed a special admission price for families when tickets are purchased at Stark’s Park for the November 30 clash, which will fall just three weeks after the league game in the City of Discovery which ended 2-0 to the hosts.
An adult buying a full price ticket priced £20 may also purchase concession tickets at discounted prices, namely £7 for 13 to 16-year-olds and £2 for those aged 12 and under.
