A 10-year-old boy found pornographic images on a phone he was given as a Christmas present.
Grandmother Anne Mason was left disgusted when grandson Kristofer showed her the explicit photos he had found on the £50 Huawei Ascend smartphone bought from Carphone Warehouse’s Murraygate store.
She said: “Kristofer was playing on the phone on Christmas night and found lots and lots of photos on it.
“Many of the images were of an unsavoury nature. They were very explicit.
“My grandson was very shocked when he saw them.”
Mrs Mason, of Kirkton, is unhappy at the store’s response to the family’s complaint.
“We spoke to Carphone Warehouse on the phone and then went into the shop, but they told us there was nothing they could do about it.
“I am angry because it is clearly a used phone and we paid for a new one.
“We didn’t even get an apology.”
Staff at the store directed inquiries to its London head office.
The company had not responded at the time of going to press.
