A council worker from Dundee is facing a series of allegations about his behaviour towards a schoolgirl.
Colin Melrose, who was employed by Dundee City Council as a senior social care officer, has been accused by social work bosses of “breaching professional boundaries” during the course of his employment.
At a Scottish Social Services Council hearing later this month, Mr Melrose will face a charge involving 14 allegations about his behaviour.
These relate to his time working for the local authority between April 2011 and February 2012 and concern a service user.
The SSSC charge claims Mr Melrose asked the girl to open her dressing gown and expose her body, and touched her inappropriately.
It is alleged that Mr Melrose told the teenager that he “thought about her all the time” or words to that effect.
The charge states that Mr Melrose told the girl details about his relationship with his wife, that he asked her a private question and told her not to tell anyone about his behaviour.
The SSSC charge makes further allegations that Mr Melrose behaved inappropriately towards the girl, including trying to kiss her.
The city council declined to confirm if Mr Melrose was still employed by the authority, adding: “We do not discuss individual personnel matters.”
The four-day hearing starts on March 17.
