A man was taken to hospital following an accident with a digger at a Dundee scrapyard. The incident took place at Eddie Dunn and Sons Auto Breakers on Beryl Street at around 10am on Thursday. One person at the scene said the worker was operating the machinery and trying to lift a car when it toppled over. It is understood he was taken to Ninewells Hospital having sustained injuries to his legs. Police attended the scene of the incident. When approached by The Courier, a spokesperson for the business refused to confirm or deny details of the incident. A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said they were investigating the accident. They also said there was a timescale for the firm to report details of any accident to them. He said: “HSE is aware and are making initial inquires. The company involved will have 10 days to report any accident.”
