The first ever wheelchair rugby international to be held in Scotland is coming to Dundee next month.
Dundee International Sports Centre (DISC) will host Scotland v Ireland in the first leg of the Celtic Cup on Saturday April 18.
Despite the sport’s short history in this country, Scotland has competed in internationals from 2012, with two Four Nations and one World Cup under its belt.
Scotland coach Jamie Seery said: “We are delighted to be able to announce what will be a historic day in Dundee.
“This is set to be our biggest year yet with these internationals, followed by the European Championships later in the year.”
While this will be the first International in Dundee, the sport certainly is not new to the area, with Dundee Dragons flying the flag for Wheelchair Rugby League in Tayside.
