World Village Market will provide temptation in City Square

Organisers of the World Village Market that will take over City Square next month are putting together a varied programme of entertainment to tempt visitors.
Among those signed up so far is light classical soprano, Rebecca Newman, who will be singing on October 10 and 11.
Fresh from supporting Russell Watson and Aled Jones, Rebecca is taking time out from recording her new album to return to the streets of Dundee where she performed at the 2012 spring festival.
Paul Kennedy, from market organisers the Market Square Group, said: “We’re thrilled to have Rebecca back with us in Dundee.
“She’s a down-to-earth performer who has raised more than £11,000 for various charities through her professional performances and her busking.”
Other performers taking part include the Dundee Rock Choir, Dundee Dance Studios, the McCann School of Irish Dance and local boy-band Drenched.
A performance area will be set up in front of Caird Hall.
The market will run from October 9-13 and feature food, drink, crafts, clothing, jewellery, home furnishings and accessories from all over the world.
