Council defends impending Easter roadworks on Sma’ Glen

Perth and Kinross Council has defended impending roadworks in the Sma’ Glen.
Road patching work will begin on March 30 on the A822 for one week, with Strathearn councillor Ann Cowan stating she feels this is not “good timing,” being the start of Easter week.
However, a council spokesman said: “As the school holidays don’t actually start until Monday, April 4, fitting the carriageway work in these few days actually avoids conflicting with the Easter weekend and the school holiday weeks, which will largely avoid the key tourism times.
“While the traffic order is for a week, that’s more a ‘just in case’ measure. We hope the work will be completed by Friday, April 1.”
