Fears are growing for the safety of a Perthshire couple on holiday in Tunisia who have not been heard from since a terror attack at their hotel on Friday.
Missing Billy and Lisa Graham’s daughter launched a social media campaign to trace them and spoke of her “nightmare” ordeal trying to get information on their whereabouts.
The Grahams were staying at the Imperial Marhaba Hotel resort in Sousse where 38 people were killed inthe attack. It is feared as many of the 38 dead might be Britons.
Holly Graham said that she has not heard from her parents since the attack. Hotel staff told the 29-year-old that the couple had not been back to their room and police had taken away their passports.
Holly said she had been unable toget any details from the ForeignOffice, despite several calls to aspecial hotline number set up forworried relatives.
Speaking from her home in Bankfoot, she said: “As you can imagine, it’sa nightmare. It’s a waiting game. I don’t know where they are.”
She said: “I had a friend who ismarried to a Tunisian man who phoned the hotel for me and they confirmed that my mum and dad were staying in the hotel. They checked the room and all their belongings were still there.”
She said calls to the ForeignOffice and holiday firm Thomson which her parents travelled with had drawn a blank.
“With Thomson, it was just like they were reading off a bit of paper,” she said. “I’ve had friends phoning on behalf of me because, as you can imagine, I’m a bit of an emotional wreck. They’ve all had the same response.
“They just say they’ve no newinformation and they will phone us when they do. They don’t even say what they are doing to find people.”
Holly said she has been usingsocial media to distribute an image of her parents, in the hope that someone will recognise them and get in touch.
“I’ve got a great group of friends who are with me and they’re all watching the news,” she said. “We’re hoping to see my mum and dad in the background. I don’t want to watch it but I have to because that’s the only way I’m getting anyinformation at the moment.”
Billy, 51, had booked the two-week break as a 50th birthday present forhis wife. The pair arrived at the hotel on June 17 and are due to come home on Wednesday.
Holly confirmed she has not heard from them since Thursday, although they had been in touch every day before.
Ochil and SouthPerthshire MP Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh pledged her support to Holly.
“She is understandably upset and worried about her parents,” she said.
Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart added: “Many constituents have been in contact with me regarding concerns as to the whereabouts of Mr and Mrs Graham and I spoke with their daughter, Holly, this morning.
“The family’s constituencyrepresentatives, John Swinney MSP and Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh MP, are doing all they can to assist and liaise with the Foreign Office.”
He added: “I know that all their friends in Perthshire are, like me,thinking of the Graham family at this very difficult time and hoping for the best possible outcome.”
