Council bosses have threatened to pull the plug on T in the Park, unless organisers can prove there will not be a repeat of last year’s mayhem.
This morning, Perth and Kinross Council releases its scathing review of the event, which strongly criticises organisers DF Concerts and calls for urgent improvements.
The Courier has seen a copy of the damning 64-page dossier.
Environment service director Barbara Renton said it had been the most complained about festival since it moved to Perthshire 18 years ago.
Ms Renton said that organisers had breached several planning conditions and failed to carry out “basic” requirements such as briefing stewards and installing enough signs on site.
She revealed that the finalised traffic management plan was only submitted the day before the event started.
“Confidence in DF Concerts has been diminished and, on that basis, the relationship with DF Concerts will have to be re-calibrated with considerably more prescription and scrutiny for any future event,” she said.
“It will also be necessary to explicitly re-emphasise to organisers that their failure to provide comprehensive plans timeously and meet planning conditions will create a risk that the event will not be allowed to proceed.
DF Concerts accepted the council’s verdict. A spokeswoman said: “We note all points of Perth and Kinross Council’s report as published and remain focused on implementing key changes for 2016.”
