Witness appeal after car crashes through level crossing barrier at Errol
ByThe Courier Reporter
Police are investigating after a car “smashed” through a level crossing barrier on a busy Tayside railway line.
A small grey car ploughed through the gates at Errol triggering a warning from British Transport Police not to take risks at crossings.
Officers at the force are also appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place on the Station Road crossing.
The barrier was damaged in the crash on September 14 and it is understood one of the windows of the offending car was smashed.
The incident is not thought to have caused any disruption on the rail network and a British Transport Police spokesman said inquiries were ongoing into the incident.
