Brechin boss welcomes all-clear for Callum Tapping

Brechin’s Callum Tapping has been given the final all-clear by a specialist to resume full training, with boss Ray McKinnon admitting it will be like having a new player for the end-of-season run in.
The 21-year-old former Hearts midfielder sustained a knee injury during a game against Stirling Albion back in September.
He was initially expected to be out for a month however the problem refused to go away and the player was referred to a specialist who confirmed the injury was worse than first feared with a tear in his cruciate ligament.
The Brechin boss believed the player would be out for the season however he has worked hard in rehab and has been an unused sub for Brechin in the last few weeks.
Now though, McKinnon is hoping he will be pushing for a full return to the first team sooner rather than later.
The manager said: “Callum has received good news from the specialist and we will look to get him fully involved in training over the next couple of weeks and then ease him back gently.
“To be fair, he has been fantastic in training recently but we were just waiting for the all-clear.
“It is a big bonus having him back and it will be like having a new signing.”
