A group of young Angus and Fife rockers could be strumming their way to success if they win a national music competition.

Alternative metal band Twin Paradox, which is made up of one Fifer and four musicians from Arbroath, are aiming to hit the big time in the annual Soundwave competition.

Aletha Monaghan, Robert Anderson, Austen Cook and Jack Richard from Arbroath, along with Rowan Knox from Fife, are among a number of bands to have made it through to the second live audition of the competition and will have the chance to progress to the finals.

The event is one of the biggest of its kind for Scotland and the North of England and gives unsigned artists a chance to win prizes and exposure at top-end gig venues.

Guitarist Robert said: “The track we’ve written for the audition is crazy and it has been odd to put together. But we feel it could help us stand out in the competition.”

The group’s debut EP, Where Has the Time Gone?, is available now on their Facebook page.
