A 24-year-old man is due to appear in court in Dundee on Monday after being charged in connection the death of a 34-year-old Latvian man in Dundee.
Emergency services were called to Thurso Crescent around 3am on Wednesday where they discovered a badly-injured man in the common stairwell of a close.
He was rushed to nearby Ninewells Hospital but later died of his injuries.
Two men, both also believed to be Latvian, were initially questioned by police in connection on Wednesday but one was later released.
Police confirmed on Christmas Day that a man had been arrested and charged in connection with the death.
The police cordon around the Thurso Crescent close was taken down on Christmas Eve but the victim’s flat was sealed by police with a notice on the door, written in English and Latvian, warning people not to enter.
