A Dundee man had sentence deferred until January 16 after admitting assaulting his partner.
John Thomas Allan Buchan, 42, of Happy-hillock Road, admitted pulling her by the arms and shouting and swearing at her during an argument on Saturday in Parkhead Place, causing her fear and alarm.
Depute fiscal Vicky Bell said the couple had been arguing and the woman left and went to a friend’s house.
When she returned home the argument was rekindled and Buchan was shouting and swearing in her face and the assault happened.
The woman kicked him away, Ms Bell said, and left the house, contacting the police. Solicitor Michael Creegan said the argument came at a time of year when there was heightened pressure on the family.
He asked for Buchan to be released on standard conditions of bail as he wanted to be able to see his children over Christmas.
Sheriff Thorley said he would only grant bail with the condition that Buchan does not approach or contact his partner. Sentence was deferred until January 16.
