A celebration has taken place of the life of Angus-born Annie Kerr, who passed away in her 103rd year.
One of a family of 10, she was born Annie Christie at South Mains of Ethie Farm, north of Arbroath on January 8 1911.
She was brought up at nearby Gilchorn Farm and schooled at Inverkeilor before working in domestic service in Montrose, and then to Brunton Farm.
In June 1937, she married William Reid Kerr at St Murdoch’s Manse, Inverkeilor and the couple then moved to Myreside, Inverarity and later New Downie Farm at Carnoustie.
Mr Kerr spent around eight years there before embarking on a new career path as a member of the greens staff at Carnoustie golf course, where he would spend almost a quarter of a century until his retiral.
The couple moved into Carnoustie, eventually settling in Thomas Street where Mrs Kerr lived until the age of 99.
For 35 years Mrs Kerr was a part-time housekeeper to Mr and Mrs Rae of Barry.
Predeceased by her husband in 1992, Mrs Kerr moved three years ago to Pitcairn Green in Perth to live with her daughter Grace Deveaux and son-in-law George.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The celebration of her life took place at Perth Crematorium on Thursday.
