A Kirkcaldy estate has been lined with lingerie to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Vicki Lister, 33, decided to start a chain of bras running from lamppost to lamppost in Chestnut Avenue in support of her neighbour Angela Taylor, who has just been diagnosed.
And the idea has certainly captured the imagination, with people now coming from far and wide to add their undies to the cause.
Vicki said: “I’ve been round and counted about 300 it’s been phenomenal.
“You’d be quite surprised how far a bra stretches, although we’ve had a problem with sagging when it’s damp!
“But when it’s dry they pop right back up again!
“It’s been amazing though, we’ve had people even coming from Methil to join in, and people have been driving past and throwing their bras in the bin I’ve put out specially at the front of the house.“All the kids in the area have been brilliant as well you would have thought they would try to haul them down but they’ve been really great and they’ve been quite territorial about it.
“It was just an idea to start a wee bra chain but it’s gone from there really.”
Vicki and her friends are now planning a series of fundraising events at the Windsor Hotel in Kirkcaldy and hope to raise as much money as possible.
“Angela is absolutely knackered she’s a single parent with three kids and works seven days a week, so we just wanted to do something to help her,” she added.
“She’s got to go and do radiation therapy five days a week and she deserves all the support she can get.
“This bra chain can’t make her better but it can certainly raise awareness and that’s what we’re hoping to do.”
