ByThe Courier Reporter
A Dundee rock band who are reforming after 30 years apart have insisted that they will ensure they play a homecoming gig in the city despite being invited to headline at festivals across Europe.
Heavy metal band Satan’s Empire were founded in 1978 by Craigie High pupils Derek Lyon and Sandy McRitchie and are now based in London.
Though they split up in 1985, vocalist, Derek, 56, told The Courier that the group can’t wait to get back on stage.
He revealed: “We’ve been thinking about getting back together for ages, but it feels like the right time now.
“Heavy metal music is enjoying areal resurgence across Europe and we’ve been asked to play at festivals in countries like Holland and Belgium.
“We’ll definitely look to play a homecoming gig in Dundee.”
