Alan Cumming to bring Hollywood glamour to Birks Cinema opening

A top Hollywood star will bring a touch of glamour to Highland Perthshire next month.
The red carpet will be rolled out to welcome Alan Cumming to Aberfeldy as he officially opens the Birks Cinema.
The X-Men actor has been patron of the cinema since 2009, lending his support to a major campaign to raise £1.3 million for renovations.
After lying empty for almost a decade, the cinema opened its doors to the public in April, but this will be the first time Cumming has visited the popular venue.
He said: “I’m truly delighted to be visiting Aberfeldy and I’m very much looking forward to seeing the Birks Cinema in all its finery.
“Everyone involved in this project has shown true dedication and commitment and I’m very excited to finally see it for myself.”
Cumming, who has recently starred in a one-man production of Macbeth on Broadway, will be in Aberfeldy on November 30 for a gala event and private screening of his latest film, Any Day Now.
