Steven Boag ran towards a group of youths carrying the weapon after earlier being knocked to the ground in the grounds of Gardyne College as he walked his dog,
Depute fiscal Vicki Bell told Dundee Sheriff Court: “About 8.30pm, a witness was with a large group of friends within the football pitch at the locus.
“The accused complained to the group regarding the mess they had made. The accused was assaulted by a member of the group.”
Boag left the area and contacted police but was later seen running towards a group of youths in the college grounds, wielding a knife.
Boag, of Craigie Drive, admitted possessing a knife in the grounds of Gardyne College, Gardyne Road, on July 17 last year.
