Status Quo fever hit Montrose today as fans queued for hours to snap up tickets for the band’s Angus gig.
Montrose Music Festival organisers were left overwhelmed as hundreds of people lined up outside the town’s Links Hotel.
Some got there as early as 6.30am to make sure they see Quo in the Mo ahead of tickets going on sale at 10.30am.
Online briefs were also available and 1500 had been sold from Ticketline in the first 20 minutes as Montrose went Quo crazy.
The three-chord rock legends will headline MoFest on May 23 with a special stage being built on the town’s East Links.
The Quo will rock to 4,500 people to kick off a weekend of live music which will take place across Montrose.
One of the first in the queue was the aptly named Mo Burden, who is looking forward to seeing Quo for the first time.
He said: “It’s going to be a fantastic weekend. The organisers deserve a lot of credit for making this happen.”
MoFest chairman David Paton said he didn’t expect to see so many people queuing up when he got to the hotel.
He said: “I thought it would be busy but I didn’t think it would be on this scale. We’ve just heard 1500 tickets have been snapped up online in 20 minutes.
“Wow! It’s just amazing.”
