Emergency services attended the incident at Finlow Terrace in Fintry just after 9.40m. It is believed the man’s condition was not serious and that he was taken to hospital as a precaution. The cause of the fire was not known. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We attended a fire at a property in Finlow Terrace at 9.41pm. “There were reports of smoke in a close. When we got there we extinguished the fire and provided first aid to a male. “He was then handed over to the ambulance service and the paramedics treated him. “The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital.” The fire crews used one hosereel, a fan and first aid equipment when attending to the incident. It took them just under 45 minutes to put out the fire and make the scene safe. The spokeswoman added: “We got the stop message at 10.03pm. At this point we don’t know what caused the fire.”
