Coming up in Thursday’s Courier nudity and a pint

If you like a tipple and the subtle contours of a naked body there is little doubt Thursday’s Courier is, quite simply, a must.

We visit the Dundee function suite where your twin passions can be combined to glorious effect.

It’s all thanks to a new initiative. We sent our man Andrew Liddle to get to the bottom of it and he takes the very greatest pleasure in ensuring you are kept abreast of events. As he said afterward: “Ale be back” (I have to be honest, he didn’t say that. But he almost certainly would have done had he only thought of it).

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

That, as I am sure you are entirely cognisant, is the kind of maniacal cackle one might expect to hear in a Frankenstein film. A new blockbuster in the good (actually very bad) doctor’s name is being made. It will star Daniel Radcliffe (he’s the Harry Potter lad), James McAvoy (Filth, among others) and in a rather more inanimate sense Dunnottar Castle. We have all the latest as the stars descend on Courier Country.

Talking of film legends, Brian Cox is one.

Just thought I would throw that in there.

There is, of course, a reason for my mentioning him. It is this: He insists Americans should unite behind the Yes campaign in Scotland. Previous generations moved to America because they loved its freedoms, he reasons. Now, he further opines, it is time for Scotland to embrace its very own freedom. Freedom. FREEDOM. (Or words to that effect).

Unless you have been living in a parallel universe (admittedly perhaps a rather pleasant one) you will not, and indeed cannot, have missed the fact that the budget was announced on Wednesday. Whether you are working, unemployed, old, young, married, single or other, we have all the reaction you need/want (delete as applicable).

It may be several weeks away, but temperatures are already rising ahead of Dundee United’s cup semi-final clash with Rangers. The Dundee-based side (that’s United) have tried to draw a line in the sand over the ticket/stadium row. Or at least fight their battles with the SFA in private.

Regardless of those very laudable efforts, it nevertheless remains a hot topic.

We have news of the latest twist and a readers’ letters special.

Meanwhile, Dundee United’s city neighbours (Dundee for the terminally confused) have a league to win, so we look at the perils faced by both themselves (that’s Dundee again) and their rivals Hamilton during the crucial run-in.

On top of all of that, there’s reaction to Stuart Hogg’s ban and Andy Murray’s split with coach Ivan Lendl.

There is a lot of content in Thursday’s Courier and I really don’t think you want to miss any of it. It really is bordering on the unmissable. In fact it is unmissable. So don’t (miss it). If you won’t take print, why not try our digital edition?
