Car drove ‘wrong way over Friarton Bridge’

Police were called to the M90 on Friday night following reports of a car driving the wrong way across the Friarton Bridge.

A number of concerned motorists contacted the police shortly before 7.30pm.

The Ford Fiesta was said to be driving in the direction of Dundee on the southbound carriageway.

Officers stopped and questioned a driver at a layby near Kinfauns.

It is understood that the man provided a negative alcohol breath test at the roadside.

Police are currently making further inquiries into the incident but no one has yet been charged.
