Anna offered people a hug if they made a donation to Horseback UK at Smithies in the town’s Keptie Street. During the course of the day she gave more than 60 customers hugs and there was even one for me. Smithies owner Patti Smith came up with the idea after Anna offered all of her staff a hug for Christmas. Anna said: “I’m the best hugger in the business. People have been very pleased with their hugs.” She was presented with a special medal by Ian Wren from Horseback UK, who said the Smithies effort had raised over £1000.
