Dundee will use full squad in bid to reach top six

Paul Hartley.
Paul Hartley.

Dundee boss Paul Hartley is set to use his squad to the full as his side look to secure a top six finish.

The Dark Blues have a hectic schedule before the Premiership split with four games against Inverness, Dundee United, St Johnstone and Celtic in an 18-day spell.

While determined to look no further ahead than Saturday’s game against John Hughes’ side in the Highlands, Hartley admitted he will be using all the resources at his disposal as Dundee attempt to finish the campaign with a flourish.

He said: “I think we have used the whole squad this season.

“Everybody has been given their chance and plenty of game time.

“We will have to do that again over the coming weeks. We have something like four games in 18 days.

“So the squad will have to be used.

“We have given ourselves a chance. Four games before the split, 12 points up for grabs.

“So we will try our best to get in there but if we don’t then we still have had a decent season in terms of being in the league.

“It is the old cliche but we will treat it one game at a time.

“We know there is little room for error in the games that are coming up.

“But I think on our day we can match anyone.”
