ByGraeme Bletcher
Montrose Academy is to host a 10k race.
The Race for a Healthy Future will take place on Sunday at 11am. Supported by GSK Montrose and Montrose Academy Parent Partnership, the event will be held at the school’s playing fields.
Nicholas Kydd of Eventfull Management is supporting the arrangements and participants can register online. The race is part of an annual health day which organisers hope will become an opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles.
Montrose SportsCentre has donated a free swim to all race participants. Runners are welcome to use the event to raise money for charities.
Depute head Bruce Pandrich said the school is committed to promoting the benefits of exercise as part of the new curriculum with a focus on health and wellbeing.
