Dundee childcare worker Brian Evans, who was found guilty of misconduct on charges involving assault on Wednesday, has been struck off by the regulatory body.
A Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) conduct subcommittee met on Thursday to discuss his punishment after finding him guilty of knocking a member of the public to the ground after punching them in the face.
There were also two charges of acting inappropriately towards colleagues.
A spokeswoman for the SSSC said all the charges against him had been proved and, following submissions at another hearing at the body’s offices on Riverside, the panel had decided to impose the most serious sanction available to them.
The alternative sanctions open to the panel range from a warning, suspension or being removed from the register and being unable to continue in the profession.
The spokeswoman said: “All parts of the charges have been proved and a removal order has been made.”
