A Fife farmer has been left devastated after 13 of his prize sheep were mauled. Eight pure breed blackface sheep were killed in the attack, which happened in Lumphinnans some time between Monday lunchtime and Tuesday evening. A further five suffered horrific injuries. One of the animals had its ear ripped off. The farmer said the incident has left his flock traumatised and damaged his business. He suspects a dog carried out the maulings. Police Scotland is investigating. For the full story, including an interview with the farmer, see Friday’s Courier or try our digital edition.
