A 10-mile stretch of road in Fife has been branded the most dangerous in Scotland. The A909, which runs from Burntisland to Kelty, and passes Mossmorran, was described as Scotland’s highest risk road by the Road Safety Foundation. At the start of 2012, two people died on the stretch near Mossmorran in separate incidents. Grandfather Andrew Dobie, 64, was killed in a head-on smash caused by black ice in January that year. The next month, the road claimed the life of mother-of-two Fiona Miller, 36, from Crossgates. Other roads ranked among the most dangerous were the A935 Montrose to Brechin and the A937 Laurencekirk to Montrose. For more on this story, see Thursday’s Courier or try our digital edition.
